The Story of Azzaro
Loris Azzaro created the Azzaro brand after he practiced making accessories for his future wife. In 1965, he began to sell his creations of bags, belts, and embroidered tops. Loris’s brand become famous once his dress was worn by Marisa Berenson and featured in Elle magazine in 1968.
Soon after, Brigitte Bardot, Jane Birkin, Sophia Loren, Raquel Welsh, and Tina Turner wore his designs. Tina Turner was a huge wearer of Azzaro and often wore his dresses on magazine covers and in her performances.
