Have you ever wanted to buy a cologne that you’ve tried in the past but just cannot remember its name? It happens to the best of us.

As I was clearing out my wardrobe the other day, I came across an old blue cologne bottle shaped like a male figure that I had forgotten about. Seeing it brought back so many good memories and got me feeling really excited for the summer.

Yes, that’s my classic JPG Le Male cologne that I stumbled upon. The name of the cologne sat far in my head since I hadn’t worn it much lately. Frankly, I only remembered the name so quickly because of the bottle’s distinctive shape.

This made me realize I should put together a guide that lists the most popular colognes that come in blue bottles. I feel this guide can be helpful to many who come across blue-bottled colognes struggling to recall their names.

If you’ve got the name of a men’s cologne in a blue bottle on the tip of your tongue, I suggest taking a look into my list of some of the most popular blue bottle colognes out there. If you’re looking for something specific, you might find it here.

1. Gucci Pour Homme II

This bottle of Gucci Pour Homme II is contemporary yet exudes sophistication. The clear flacon reveals soft blue liquid and is topped off with a brushed gold lid. It looks so luxurious and yet clearly tells me what to expect inside.

What you’ll get is a fresh ozonic perfume with a hint of warmth from pimento chillies. For me, this makes Gucci Pour Homme II much more versatile than other similar fragrances. With myrrh and tobacco at the base, it leaves a light smoky trail that I think is perfect for times when you want to evoke an air of mystery.

2. Versace Dylan Blue

The rich, deep blue bottle for Dylan Blue is perhaps one of the most easily recognizable in the modern perfume world. Launched in 2016, the bottle became a staple on the dressers of many gents.

That intense blue hue is complimented by a golden logo and topped off with a sheer gold lid. Inside, the aromatic fougere cologne delivers freshness, warmth, and spiciness in equal measures.

I think this is the perfect evening fragrance that’ll linger effortlessly for those times when you really want to stand out.

3. Sedley by Parfums de Marly

Here is a luxurious bottle for a luxurious perfume. If the bottle you’ve been searching for has a matte, subdued blue tint with a silver lid, it could be Sedley!

Sedley comes in a bottle embossed with the brand logo; two strong horses on their hind legs. It emulates manly power and I think that it gives the perfect nod to the fragrance within.

Bursting with citrus notes and woods, Sedley is a highly aromatic fragrance for the modern gentleman who wants to appear classy. A few sprays will last all day so be sure to go easy with this one.

4. Nuit de l’Homme Bleu Electrique by YSL

The flanker to the original Nuit de l’Homme, Bleu Electrique brings a rich yet vibrant take on the original bottle design. With an ombre shade that fades from deep black to ocean blue, you can instantly tell that this is going to be a truly manly fragrance.

I also love the way the bottle design uses the angular, oversized lid to create a striking feature against the smooth cylindrical bottle.

Nuit de l’Homme is a warm, long lasting aromatic cologne that wears excellently during colder weather.

5. Versace Eros

Versace Eros

Eros was launched in 2012 and was intended to show power and desire as inspired by Greek mythology. As such, you’ll find the face of Greek God, Eros etched into the dark turquoise bottle. The same face is also printed into the golden lid.

I feel like there is something powerful about the design of the flacon at the same time as reminding me of something fresh and invigorating.

In fact, that’s exactly what this cologne is about. Fresh mint and citrus coupled with sweet and warm tonka bean, cedar, and vanilla. I find the fragrance perfect for sensual dates and romantic evenings.

6. D&G Light Blue For Men

DG Light Blue For Men

Not strictly a blue bottle but Light Blue is blue by name and the flacon comes topped with a delicately hued blue lid.

The bottle is a matte, translucent shade of off white and features silver letting giving it a simple yet elegant appearance.

Light Blue for men was launched in 2007 and is a super fresh yet aromatic cologne. I love this one for summer as it’s so bright and projects amazingly from warm skin.

7. Jean Paul Gaultier Le Male

Back in 1995, JPG released a men’s cologne in a body-shaped bottle that would become one of the most iconic flacons in the world.

The light blue male torso striped with horizontal white lines and a simple silver atomizer is striking and unique.

This is a classic smelling cologne with a modern twist making it accessible to men of all ages. It’s gentle and sweet yet superbly manly so Le Male feels sexy and commanding. It lasts amazingly well and has a very unique scent that works very well as a signature.

8. Costa Azzurra EDP by Tom Ford

The bottle for Costa Azzurra is the same shape as many of the other Tom Ford fragrances – rectangular with a square cap. However, the intense royal blue color is a lot more striking than some of its cousins. It still features that iconic square label with the perfume name, this time in a gold color that perfectly contrasts the blue.

Costa Azzurra is a unisex perfume with woody notes of oak, vetiver and oud alongside citruses, lavender and vanilla. It’s just as fresh as it is sensual and for me, I think it’s a great cologne for passionate summer days.

9. Diesel Only The Brave

For guys who want their perfume bottles to make a huge statement, look no further than Only The Brave. Considering this is a relatively affordable cologne, I find the detail in the bottle astonishing.

It’s shaped like a fist with a Diesel embossed knuckle duster and comes in a muted mid blue color with a chrome silver lid. It feels almost quirky yet super powerful.

The scent is fresh at the head but dries down to a leathery, woody, rich base which is ideal for year round use. However, it’s quite delicate so I’d recommend it for times when you need something a little more subtle.

10. Versace Dylan Pour Femme

Even though I’m discussing mainly men’s colognes, I had to include Versace Dylan Pour Femme as it’s such a recognizable perfume in a blue bottle.

The semi circular bottle is capped with a regal looking golden lid that looks striking against the royal blue color. There’s a powerful elegance to the design which I believe is reflected in the perfume.

This floral fruity blend is super feminine at the same time as being strong and outgoing. It’s ideal for confident women who want a long lasting and unique signature scent.

11. Bleu de Chanel

There is no doubt that when thinking of colognes in a square blue bottle BDC is one of the first that springs to mind. The deep, dark blue tone always makes me think of the depths of the ocean because there’s a somewhat marine feel to the perfume.

Bleu de Chanel is rich, warm, fresh, and spicy all at the same time. The simplicity of the bottle is not reflected in the fragrance. Bleu de Chanel is a complex blend of notes that create a strong, masculine scent.

Now considered a classic, BDC is intense yet elegant and versatile enough for any occasion and men of all ages.

12. Mugler A* Men

Mugler A Men

The gray chrome bottle with a shiny blue star makes for a striking statement piece on the dresser. However, it kinda reminds me of a fancy stick deodorant bottle – sorry Mugler!

That said, I like how the gun metal gray color makes the blue star stand out, and overall the presentation has a manly and powerful feel.

The fragrance is an amber woody scent with lots of fruity notes to make it super sweet. This for me makes it more of a youthful cologne. The strong projection lends well to winter or evening occasions.

13. Givenchy Pour Homme Blue Label

Givenchy Pour Homme Blue Label

I like the sporty look of the Givenchy Pour Homme Blue Label bottle. The whole thing feels youthful, energetic, and ready to take on the world. However, I have to say that the blue plastic does give the bottle a bit of a cheap fee. But that’s alright because I really like the fragrance.

Blue Label is a fresh spicy fragrance that I think works well for the confident men with a zest for life. That character shows in the bottle and when wearing the fragrance, it makes me feel ready for anything.

14. Davidoff Cool Water

Davidoff Cool Water
Davidoff Cool Water

As far as blue bottle colognes go, a great deal of people will be uber familiar with Cool Water. Launched in the late 1980s, this was one of the most iconic aquatic scents of the 90s that features sea notes, green accords and florals.

The rectangular bottle is often depicted splashed in water droplets, which I think is a great way to show the fresh aromatic nature of the fragrance. It’s a deep blue that reminds me of the ocean and summer. I think Cool Water is an excellent warm weather scent, especially if you want something inoffensive.

15. Joop! Jump

Joop Jump
Joop Jump

You might not instantly think of Joop as a designer brand with a blue bottle as the original fragrance came in a deep maroon flacon. However, this flanker launched in 2005 boasts a bright blue rectangular bottle with white and green accents and a silver lid.

The overall appearance of the bottle gives a very sporty and youthful vibe and yet the fragrance itself feels slightly more mature and refined to me. Heliotrope, rosemary, and vetiver give Joop! Jump a very grown up character that I feel works well for classy guys with a streak of fun.

16. Bvlgari Aqva Pour Homme Atlantiqve

Bvlgari Aqva Pour Homme Atlantiqve
Bvlgari Aqva Pour Homme Atlantiqve

I’m actually not sure what I think of the bottle for Aqva Atlantiqve, it almost reminds me of the old Far Away women’s perfume bottle from Avon in terms of shape and texture. However, color-wise, it’s certainly very blue!

The deep royal blue features on the lower half of this round bottle and is finished off with a shiny silver top. It feels very oceanic and fresh which is a perfect nod towards what’s inside.

Aqva Atlantiqve is a superbly uplifting marine scent with a sweet yet woody base. I wear it for summer but it also lasts so well that I’ll wear it as an everyday scent when I know I’ve got a long day and want to stay smelling great.

17. Calvin Klein Defy EDP

Calvin Klein Defy EDP
Calvin Klein Defy EDP

There is an EDT version of Defy which comes in a clear bottle revealing light blue perfume. However, the dark, ombre bottle of Defy EDP is so much more luxurious and mysterious. It’s capped with a textured matte blue lid in what I can only describe as the color of a blue whale.

The bottle feels simple yet unique and this brand new fragrance for men is sexy, mysterious, and manly.

Defy EDP is very simple in its composition with orange, pepper, suede and leather. But it feels classy to me and is perfect for date nights when you want to be up close and personal.

18. Dior Sauvage

Dior Sauvage
Dior Sauvage

Sauvage has become something of an icon in the world of cologne and part of that is the mysterious, sexy bottle. It features an ombre effect melting from misty grayish blue through to midnight with a shiny black magnetic lid.

If you like an intense and wild fragrance, then Sauvage is probably what you’re looking for. Not only is this a great all round cologne but it’s got a manly, strong character that’s backed by the fierceness of Johnny Depp himself.

19. Y Yves Saint Laurent by YSL

Y is an aromatic men’s cologne that comes in a beautiful light blue bottle. The bottle boasts a silver lid with matching silver branding and has a masculine yet elegant appearance. The sharp lines of the rectangular bottle make it look super modern.

Y is a versatile perfume in that I can wear it for pretty much any occasion. It’s quite delicate so will not offend. I would say that since it’s an aldehydic fragrance, it’s more of a mature scent.

20. Azzaro Wanted Tonic

Azzaro Wanted Tonic
Azzaro Wanted Tonic

It’s impossible to miss the Wanted range since the lid of the bottle looks like a loaded gun. I think this is a brilliantly unique feature of Azzaro that’s ideal for those wanting their cologne to look as good as it smells.

The bottle feels really solid in my hand. The design definitely represents power and masculinity. This is a brilliant juxtaposition to the light blue color that reveals that perfect at the base of the bottle.

In terms of scent, Wanted Tonic is a simple woody spicy fragrance with strong citrus notes. In my opinion, it is the perfect summer perfume and is also delicate enough to wear every day.
