Introduced in 2004, 8 by Abercrombie & Fitch is a fragrance with fruity floral notes. Featuring fresh, zesty citrus fruit, soft jasmine notes and a woody base, 8 has become a favorite fragrance for many, including myself.

Sadly, the fragrance is no longer produced, and I can tell by experience it isn’t easy to locate a bottle. I have compiled a list of ten similar fragrances that you need to try if you want to find a scent with a similar vibe to 8 by Abercrombie & Fitch.

What Similarities Are We looking for in 8 by Abercrombie & Fitch

8 smells like a combination of bright citrus notes and soap nestled into a bouquet of soft white florals. It gives off a very clean, youthful vibe and is slightly sweet. When looking for a suitable alternative to 8, I want to make sure the opening is citrusy and the base features a combination of musk, wood, and vanilla. While mint is not a note within its accord, it tends to project a similar fresh scent. Therefore, I search for fragrances that feature this note.

Now that we know what we’re looking for, let’s move on to the ten fragrances I recommend you try if you love 8 by Abercrombie & Fitch.

10 Dupes of 8 by Abercrombie & Fitch

1. Zara With Love by Zara

For something less citrusy than 8 but with a robust vanilla and amber base, try Zara With Love. A pear note softens the opening, while the citrus is barely detectable. It quickly transitions through the floral jasmine middle and develops into a robust vanilla and amber scent.

The overall scent reminds me of how 8 smells once it settles into its base. However, it’s much sweeter due to the juicy pear note. In terms of longevity, I managed to get six hours of wear.

If you’re looking for something that strongly replicates 8’s fragrance as it dries down, check out Zara With Love.

2. Dior Addict Shine by Dior

For a fragrance that embodies a similar vibe to 8, check out Dior Addict Shine. The citrus notes in this fragrance are much more lemony. Still, I think they balance out well with the addition of gardenia and cedar. There isn’t a discernible accord, but coconut seems to be the dominant note. I also noticed subtle hints of mint.

Overall, this fragrance features a similar vibe to 8, but it’s much more feminine and features a sharper citrus note. While it doesn’t quite hit every mark, I think it is still a suitable alternative.

3. Fairy Dance Secret Wish by Anna Sui

While 8 opens up with a bright, citrusy hit, Fairy Dance Secret Wish features a slightly spicy blend of mango, mandarin, and pink pepper. The sweet, spicy opening quickly gives way to a rose floral middle and a deep woody base.

I observed that, the mango scent intensified throughout the day, giving this fragrance a slight gourmand feel. I found the bamboo note keeps this fragrance smelling more clean than fruity.

While the vibe is similar, the fragrance is weaker in terms of lasting power You’ll have to spray liberally, reapply, or combine with something more potent to achieve longevity.

4. Tous Man Intense by Tous

While Tous Man is a more masculine fragrance than 8, I think they both project in a similar way. I find that this fragrance is spicier and smells like aftershave from a barbershop for the first several minutes. However, that quality fades as it begins to dry down, revealing a robust minty scent.

Interestingly enough, mint is absent within the fragrance accord. Instead I noticed subtle hints of citrus and white floral notes intensify and fade throughout the day.

I think that Tous Man can become cloying, so try not to overspray. Overall, this fragrance features a soapy, clean vibe similar to 8. I suggest checking it out if you’re looking for something to wear on date nights.

5. Faconnable Royal Eau de Parfum by Faconnable

If you like the fresh, soapy scent of 8, I suggest trying Faconnable Royal. To me, Faconnable Royal smells like a combination of minty soap and suntan lotion.

It opens up with bright, citrusy notes and a green backdrop. With time the fragrance becomes more floral and woody, with mint notes and a hint of jasmine. Musk develops at the base giving it a masculine quality.

The overall projection is relatively modest, and I noticed a slightly synthetic note remains throughout wear. I feel Faconnable Royal performs better when sprayed on clothes instead of directly on the skin.

Those who enjoy the fresh vibe of 8 and don’t mind a synthetic scent are likely to appreciate Faconnable Royal.

6. Pure Poison by Dior for women

If you like the white florals in 8 but wish they were more intense, try Pure Poison by Dior.

As soon as I sprayed it a fragrant bouquet of white flowers appeared along with citrus notes. While the citrus isn’t as prominent as it is in 8, it still projects a similarly clean vibe. It’s also more floral, and those notes become more pronounced as time passes.

The dry down is muskier and almost reminds me of sun-dried linen on a warm summer day.

The scent is pretty soapy, and I think it’s much more powdery than 8.

If you’re not a fan of white florals, skip this fragrance. But if you enjoy jasmine and don’t mind that note remaining prominent throughout wear give this one a try.

7. Puzzle by Coty

Puzzle by Coty is a fragrance that maintains strong citrus and mint vibes throughout wear.

As soon as I spray it, I detect a fresh cut greens and citrus fruit aroma. The dry down is very powdery, and green notes remain throughout. The absence of vanilla and amber makes Puzzle much more light and airy than 8. While it is a more youthful fragrance, I found the projection somewhat disappointing.

If you decide to get this fragrance I would layer it with something stronger. To recreate the overall feel of 8, you could even pair it with a scent that features a musky vanilla heart.

8. Bleu de Chanel by Chanel

Looking for a more masculine alternative to 8, try Bleu de Chanel. Initially, there is a strong smoky incense note, but this quickly disappears, replaced by citrusy grapefruit notes.

The most prominent notes featured within Bleu are citrus, though I can smell soft jasmine as it dried down. It develops a slight synthetic amber vibe, but it wasn’t too overwhelming.

Overall I think Bleu has more of a fresh spicy smell as opposed to 8, which has a clean citrusy vibe. It doesn’t have much projection, and it fades away rather quickly. It’s best to go for the EDP version if you want a lot of lasting power.

9. Citrus Ginger by Dossier

For a fragrance that is similarly fresh like 8 but features a minty opening, check out Citrus Ginger from Dossier. Whenever I do a round up on dupes, I frequently include Dossier.

Upon application, I could detect strong mint notes mingled with lemon and ginger. While the mint eventually fades, the citrusy top and middle notes remain throughout wear. There are no discernable floral notes within this composition. However, the dry down is somewhat woody and musky, like 8.

In spite of its similarity to 8, its performance isn’t impressive. You may want to layer it with a fragrance featuring white floral notes to help with projection.

10. #Fierce by The Dua Brand

The final fragrance on my list is #Fierce by The Dua Brand. This dupe of the original also features a more aromatic vibe yet is still fresh and suitable for everyday wear.

I noticed that this fragrance leads with strong sage notes intertwined with lemon and orange. While it was somewhat reminiscent of 8, I feel that #Fierce projects much better. There is also a soapy lavender vibe similar to the clean scent 8 is known for.

I must mention that the sillage is quite strong, and depending on your chemistry, you may notice a peculiar smell reminiscent of body odor. I think this must have something to do with the musky base since it’s transient and only appears after a few hours.
