TriBeCa is an amber and vanilla fragrance released by Bond No. 9 in 2020. This unisex fragrance smells like you’ve walked into a candy shop surrounded by a garden full of fragrant jasmine flowers.
If you enjoy the sweet, vanilla scent of TriBeCa but can’t seem to find it anywhere, you’ve come to the right place. I’ve put together a list of my top ten similar fragrances if you’re looking for something with the same vibe as TriBeCa.
What Similarities Are We looking for in TriBeCa
When searching for perfumes similar to TriBeCa, I looked for scents featuring a sweet candied opening, floral heart, and an earthy, woody dry down.
The overall vibe should fall between being a full-bodied gourmand and an amber-based fragrance. The vibe should be rich and creamy but not overly cloying, and the dry down must be woody or musky.
I avoid perfumes that feature too many florals, especially since jasmine is a generally strong note on its own.
TriBeCa is a unisex fragrance. However, I find that it tends to lean more feminine. Therefore, I made sure to avoid overly masculine fragrances. While some smoky notes are fine, they should not dominate the composition.
Now that we know what we’re looking for, let’s jump right into my list of ten similar fragrances you should try if you enjoy TriBeCa by Bond No. 9.
My 10 Favorite Dupes of Bond No. 9 TriBeCa
1. Amour Nocturne by L’Artisan Parfumeur
For a fragrance featuring a smokier opening and a sweet caramel base, I recommend checking out Amour Nocturne.
As soon as I sprayed it, I immediately detected smoldering smoky gunpowder notes that reminded me of incense.
As it dries down, the smokiness fades a bit. A few minutes later, subtle orchid notes begin to reveal themselves and are less overt than TriBeCa’s fragrant jasmine heart.
As it settles, the caramel notes feature a smokier quality thanks to the gunpowder that remains in the background throughout wear.
The sillage is moderate, and the longevity is strong. I think it Amour Nocturne carries a similar unisex vibe as TriBeCa, though it leans a bit more masculine.
Overall, it is a great fragrance for any time of day or night.
2. Cloud by Ariana Grande
Cloud by Ariana Grande features a similarly sweet aroma, although it’s not nearly as intense.
Early on, I detected a plastic smell that disappeared after several minutes. The opening smelled like lavender soap to my nose, giving it a fresh, clean vibe.
After a while, sweet coconut cream and praline are revealed but they don’t seem nearly as gourmand as TriBeCa.
Although pear and bergamot are within the accord, the sweet caramel candy vibes make those notes undetectable.
Cloud is an incredibly feminine fragrance, though the longevity seemed to be lacking. Still, if you’re looking for something sweet like TriBeCa with a slight gourmand vibe, I definitely recommend you to check out Cloud.
3. Impression of Maison Francis Kurkdjian – Baccarat Rouge 540 Extrait by Oil Perfumery
Although this fragrance is a dupe for Baccarat Rouge 540, there are several reasons why it deserves a spot on my list.
Firstly, if you’re looking for a fragrance that’s easy to use on the go, you’ll love the rollerball application. After applying it, I noticed bold saffron notes fill the air and linger for quite a while before developing a deep amber heart. This scent takes centerstage and remains throughout wear before it eventually settles alongside a woody base.
While this fragrance lacks those sweet notes featured in TriBeCa, the warm amber paired with the saffron reminds me of the warm earthiness TriBeCa features as it matures.
If you’re looking for something affordable that’s easily transportable and discreet for midday application, you should try this dupe fragrance.
4. Baccarat Rouge 540 by Maison Francis Kurkdjian
Baccarat Rouge 540 features an amber and woody vibe without being as sweet as TriBeCa.
The opening feels more masculine than TriBeCa. I also sense a synthetic vibe that lingers as the fragrance develops. A tinge of burnt sugar lessens in intensity, becoming more sweet and soft with time. The saffron and jasmine notes mingle with an amber heart and a woody base.
The longevity of Baccarat Rouge 540 is unmatched, and just a couple of sprays get me through my day.
A drawback of the fragrance is its hefty price tag. However, if money is no obstacle and you’re on the lookout for something less sweet but with a similar feel to TriBeCa, Baccarat Rouge 540 may be right up your alley.
5. Casino Royale Cotton Candy Nights by The Dua Brand
I also recommend trying Casino Royale Cotton Candy Nights by The Due Brand. It is more gourmand than TriBeCa.
The fragrance starts with bold cotton candy notes that take over the rest of the accord. Although jasmine and saffron notes are within the fragrance profile, they are virtually undetectable to me.
I noticed a subtle smokiness that develops during the day and hangs around for the duration of wearing it.
I think this fragrance smells like a combination of TriBeCa with Baccarat Rouge 540. I recommend giving this fragrance a try if you enjoy a slightly smoky base combined with a gourmand heart.
6. Al Contrario by Tiziana Terenzi
If you’re looking for something sweet like TriBeCa but appreciate a woody dry down, consider checking out Al Contrario.
The fragrance immediately opens up with a fresh sugar cookie vibe. However, after it’s given a few minutes to settle, I notice hints of spice and a subtle floral scent.
Vanilla and chocolate notes emerge throughout the scent, while the base is mossy and slightly smoky.
It definitely embodies the essence of TriBeCa, and I feel that Al Contrario is even a little more masculine. Both fragrances’ bases are earthy and woody, and the projection and longevity mirror that of TriBeCa.
Overall, I think you should try this fragrance if you enjoy the overall vibe of TriBeCa’s scent.
7. Interplay Inspired By MFK Baccarat Rouge 540 by Alexandria Fragrances
Although Interplay is another dupe inspired by Baccarat Rouge 540, it’s also suitable for fans of TriBeCa.
I found the opening to be sweeter, giving off a cotton candy vibe like other fragrances featured on my list. However, after a few minutes, the sweetness diminishes while amber and hints of sage become prominent.
As far as I can tell, the undertone is much muskier than TriBeCa, which may intensify depending on your body chemistry.
Nevertheless, if you enjoy the sweetness and projection of TriBeCa and the musky vibe of Baccarat Rouge 540, you are likely to enjoy this fragrance.
8. Crystal by ALT.
I must admit, when I first sprayed Crystal, it smelled like rubbing alcohol and took several minutes to settle. After a while, I noticed a sweet toasted marshmallow vibe that dominated the top accord. There is also a subtle spiciness that intensifies over time.
Something interesting is that I noticed a slight whiff of wet paper throughout the day. I’m still determining if this is due to the formulation or my body chemistry, but it’s something to note.
The base is warm and woody, which is reminiscent of TriBeCa. Crystal is not as sweet as TriBeCa, but largely the dry-down is similar. Although I find the projection to be mediocre, I like the scent.
9. Ambery Saffron by Dossier
Ambery Saffron captures the spicy amber vibe of TriBeCa without the intense gourmand notes.
After the first spray I noticed spicy saffron fill the air and dominate the rest of the accord for several minutes.
After a while, it becomes more floral with soft jasmine notes enveloped by earthy cedarwood.
The fragrance matured quickly and settled into an amber base with fir balsam and oakmoss filling out the rest of this accord.
It is much spicier than TriBeCa, though the vibe is similarly warm. Unfortunately, its projection was weak, and the scent became undetectable within just a couple of hours. I’d layer it with something else.
10. Greenwich Village by Bond No 9
For a sweeter take on TriBeCa, consider trying Greenwich Village, also by Bond No. 9.
The opening is a bit lighter than TriBeCa because of the sweet vibes I get from the litchi and mandarin orange.
After the initial fruity opening, the scent turns more floral, and a slight muskiness reveals itself at this point.
The projection and sillage are decent, though it’s in no way overwhelming or cloying.
While it’s a unisex fragrance, I feel it leans a little more feminine due to the floral notes.
I think you should give Greenwich Village a try if you’re a fan of TriBeCa and want to try something from Bond No 9 that’s even sweeter.
