Oud Satin Mood by Maison Francis Kurkdjian is a unisex fragrance that features bold rose notes paired with sweet vanilla and a deep oud heart. Maison Francis Kurkdjian is known for creating opulently luxurious fragrances, and Oud Satin Mood has remained popular with perfume lovers of all ages. Due to Oud Satin Mood’s high price, this fragrance is beyond most people’s budgets. The good news is that there are alternatives that have a similar feel to Oud Satin Mood. I have listed ten dupes and alternatives that you need to try if you’re addicted to this scent.

Taking a look at Oud Satin Mood

Oud Satin Mood smells like a fragrant bouquet of deep red roses combined with sweet, smoky incense. This blend evokes a sophisticated, alluring vibe, making it an excellent option for a romantic dinner date or a night on the town. When looking for your dupe or alternative, you’ll want to ensure your choice features a floral rose and oud opening. As it dries down, make sure amber and vanilla notes become more prominent but that the rose and oud remain throughout wear.

It would help if you also include fragrances featuring violet notes. Depending on your body chemistry, your scent experience may include a more robust violet scent, allowing this fragrance to take on a powdery vibe. Therefore, include oud fragrances with more prominent violet notes. The projection should be strong, while the longevity should lean on the eternal side. Oud Satin Mood also projects a slight gourmand vibe as it settles, so ensure that your fragrance elicits a similar feel during wear. Now that you know which characteristics to look for when choosing a similar scent, let’s look at my list of ten fragrances you should try if you like Oud Satin Mood.

10 Dupes of Oud Satin Mood by Maison Francis Kurkdjian

1. Our Impression of Maison Francis Kurkdjian – Oud Satin Mood by OilPerfumery

I found this perfume to lack the depth of Oud Satin Mood and there wasn’t a noticeable development from opening to dry down. Still, I feel OilPerfumery’s overall formulation is a close match to the original. The rose note is a bit more prominent, though. Its longevity is substantial, and the projection is intense. Just a dab or two will last you all day. This one leans slightly more feminine, but it still works as a unisex fragrance. If you can’t afford the real deal, you should consider OilPerfumery’s option.

2. Nina Ricci L’Extase Rose Absolue

Maison Francis Kurkdjian is the nose behind this fragrance, and I recommend trying this one for its similarities and the lower price point. While the rose notes are more prominent and the opening smells more peppery than smoky, the rest of the dry down experience is nearly identical. I find that L’Extase Rose Absolue leans a bit sweeter during the day, whereas Oud Satin Mood is slightly more masculine and woody. While woody oud notes are still present within the accord, they are more subtle as it dries down. This fragrance smells expensive but is a much more affordable alternative to the original.

3. The Dua Brand Satin Midnight

While The Dua Brand usually does a great job of recreating popular scents, this one is slightly off the mark. Upon the first spray, I got a strong baby powder vibe. The oud is subtle and not as strong as in Oud Satin Mood. Its rose note develops similarly to Oud Satin Mood, and there is more of a powdery dry down. I found Satin Midnight comes off a bit more synthetic and powdery. Still, it does give off a familiar overall vibe and projects a bit better too.

4. Jo Malone London Velvet Rose & Oud

While Velvet Rose & Oud opens similarly to the original with robust woody notes, a sweet praline note evolves a few minutes after spraying it. As a result, it is slightly softer with a medicinal wood and gourmand undertone. However, the deep rose heart carries throughout the day. The combination of rose and oud is very reminiscent of Oud Satin Mood, but there is a more gourmand feel due to the praline. Overall, I think it’s a good option for those looking for something similar but with a sweeter dry down experience.

5. Oud Sapphire by Blend Oud

If you like a sweet rose opening but with less oud, have a look at Oud Sapphire. After the first few minutes, the rose fades a bit as a combination of violet and oud takes shape, which reminds me of Oud Satin Mood. The projection was intense for the first two hours, but it eventually settled. The dry down is powdery, giving this unisex fragrance a more feminine vibe. I also get a hint of marshmallow, which is interesting since there is no mention of it within the accord. If you’re looking for something slightly sweeter with a lower price range, try Oud Sapphire.

6. The Dua Brand Satin Midnight Attar

This formulation seemed weak the first time I tried this. However, after letting the bottle sit for a while, I tried it again and was pleasantly surprised. The opening is nearly identical to Oud Satin Mood with dark rich rose and woody oud notes. The dry down is similarly smoky with hints of amber and vanilla that become more pronounced throughout wear. Unfortunately, the projection is slightly less prominent, and the longevity is somewhat weaker. However, with its modest price point, I think you could afford to reapply this fragrance as needed. Although this fragrance is currently out of stock, fans of Oud Satin Mood should try it once it’s available.

7. Oud Satin by Ministry of Oud

I noticed that Oud Satin has a sweeter opening than Oud Satin Mood, and vanilla tends to be the most prominent note for the first few minutes. After a while, it moves through the rest of its accord and powdery rose notes form, which take this fragrance in a more feminine direction. Like Oud Satin Mood, the oud stays detectable through wear, but it remains in the background for the most part. The longevity is substantial, and I can still smell the vanilla notes on my clothes several days after wear. Oud Satin is a good option for those who enjoy the overall vibe of the original but are looking for something with a bit less projection.

8. Maison Francis Kurkdjian Oud Satin Mood Extrait de Parfum

If you enjoy the original Oud Satin Mood and money is no object, you should consider trying Oud Satin Mood Extrait. This formulation features a similar accord, but the violet notes have an elevated presence. The opening also takes a sweeter turn almost instantly after application. While the rose stays detectable, I found it remains more subtle while the oud dominates the dry down experience. The base is sweeter, and a hint of chocolate appears alongside vanilla notes. I must note that this fragrance has a strong presence and will last a long time, so keep that in mind when applying it.

9. Nostalgia Inspired By MFK Oud Satin Mood by Alexandria Fragrances

I feel Alexandria Fragrances did a decent job recreating the overall vibe of Oud Satin Mood, except for the initial opening. I noticed a bit of a boozy quality within the first few minutes of spraying it and felt that it was much sweeter than the original. After a while, the fragrance settles nicely and reveals a combination of soft rose, sweet vanilla, and subtle oud. Benzoin and violet notes reappear during the day, although they become much less prominent after a few hours. I felt this fragrance is more linear than Oud Satin Mood, and no surprises reveal themselves throughout wear. It’s also a bit more synthetic. However, it doesn’t detract from its overall performance.

10. Zara Perpetual Oud

Zara Perpetual Oud

Last but not least, I recommend Perpetual Oud by Zara as a dupe for Oud Satin Mood. While I found the initial opening comparable to Oud Satin Mood, it eventually takes more of a rose vibe. The oud is still noticeable throughout the dry down. Smooth leather and earthy patchouli notes develop towards the latter stages of wear. There is a sweetness to this fragrance that is comparable to Oud Satin Mood, but it is a fruity sweetness brought on by pear notes as opposed to vanilla. Overall, I suggest trying this fragrance out if you’re looking for a similar oud vibe that’s less gourmand with bolder rose notes. Not only is Perpetual Oud reasonably priced, but it also projects well, and the longevity is decent.
